If you scroll wayyyy back to Broke Club beginnings you would have noticed we stumbled across Daevon Heirs. At the time if we remember properly he had a few songs (& another name) but nonetheless we knew he had talent. But nothing prepared us for his recent work: AvantGarde. It truly is something special.
The tracklist is made up of 7 songs starting off with the album title AvanteGarde & smoothly flowing into Everything Good. Next track B.O.B & Insecure is our favourite on the album/ EP whatever you wanna classify it. Is he rap whispering? Yes he damn is. The chorus is catchy AF, implanting "that's a bitch move" back into our daily vocab.
There's a lot of really intricate synths & electronicness that really goes on, piano bits etc. In All of Me & Generation Sucks he slows it all down. Generation Sucks seems like a spaced out love song but kinda not. Guess you'll have to decide on that one on your own. No Day Off kicks it back up to a dance-y track, where he speaks of doing overtime, wasting time for no one & "not checking his phone for a hoe," (yup sounds like the Broke Club anthem for real.) And the grand finale - Tribute to West. There's something cinematic about this one. The organ plays, then comically quotes "funeral music" & then goes on to give thanks to his supporters & those who appreciate true art. Which this definitely is.
